Who We Are
Empowering Change, Ensuring Compassion: Our mission is to advocate for the well-being, rights, and positive perception of pit bulls. Through education, awareness, and policy initiatives, we strive to create a world where every pit bull is valued, protected, and embraced as a beloved member of our communities.
To accomplish our goal, we work with local rescues and shelters, both non-profit and governmental agencies, to help provide deeply needed services and materials. From making dog treats for enrichment and helping to set-up/tear-down at events, to providing blankets, toys, or cold-hard cash, we're committed to doing what we can, when we can, to help dogs of all breeds that need it.
Why East Valley Pit Bulls if we help all dog breeds?
Although we just said we help all dogs, regardless of breed, we focus on pit bulls due to them making up the majority of dogs in rescues and shelters. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control took in over 16,000 dogs last year, and the majority of them were pit bulls. Pit bulls are a misunderstood breed, and there is a lot of unwarranted fear, misinformation, and abuse that occurs with them. We will do whatever we can to break the stigma and promote responsible pit bull ownership to help curb the numbers.
